Covenant Presbyterian Church - Served
by Elders and Deacons
ELDERS
The Elders are the key spiritual leaders of the congregation.
Chosen by God, affirmed by the people and set apart and ordained to
their office through the laying on of hands, these men give themselves
fully to the task of shepherding the flock, guarding the truth, overseeing
the affairs of the church and serving as examples of Christian maturity.
Elders are ordained for life and are to be active in leadership
within the congregation. At Covenant, the Elders serve for a three year
term, which may be repeated often, though a one year sabbatical is suggested
after every six years of active service.
The current Elders at Covenant are:
Richard King (class of 2005)
Michael Kotora (class of 2006)
Kenneth Moore (class of 2005)
Burke Sullivan, Jr. (class of 2005)
Walter Coppersmith (Pastor Teacher)
DEACONS
The Deacons are the key people charged with mobilizing
the congregation for service, and they jointly administer the Mercy
Ministries of Covenant. The Deacons minister to those in need, the sick,
the friendless, and those in distress.
